WATER DISRUPTION AT UNITEN PUTRAJAYA CAMPUS

PUTRAJAYA, 4th OCTOBER – Syarikat Bekalan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (SYABAS) has once again released a circular dated 4th October 2016 which stated that the water supply at Sungai Semenyih has once again been polluted. The source of pollution has been identified, which is located at Batu 22 ¼, Jalan Sg. Lalang, Semenyih. The Department of Environment, the Selangor Waters Management Authority and the Kajang Municipal Council are working hand in hand to take action against the perpetrators.

In the meantime, the Semenyih Water Treatment Plant will have to shut down in order to facilitate such operations. The shutting down of the water treatment plant will affect districts such as Hulu Langat, Petaling, Sepang and Kuala Langat. Unfortunately, UNITEN Putrajaya Campus will be affected with this exercise as it is located at the Hulu Langat district. The water treatment plant has been shut down since 10 am today for the fourth time since its first occurrence this year.

All UNITENians are advised to consume water wisely should any students are still in campus for their respective endeavours. Log on to www.syabas.com.my or download the “mySYABAS” application for updates. Attached below is the circular released by SYABAS.
