UNITEN Elections 18/19 – A Guide

With the UNITEN 18/19 Elections right around the corner, we here at NADi have compiled this nifty guide to help you make the most of the elections and make you vote count!

The UNITEN elections are an opportunity to have your voice heard. Just like any other election, we cast our votes in hope of finding the best candidates to represent our views and interests. Traditionally, the elections are kind of boring and seem to take place in the background. However, we wish to change that by helping all UNITEN students be more informed about the going-on\’s and the who\’s who of the elections. Therefore, we will be posting articles reporting on all the happenings (the relevant ones at least) this election, so stay tuned!

Out of the 18 candidates this year, only 13 will be chosen. Who will win? You decide!

Each candidate running in the 18/19 Elections is given one week to campaign for their cause. This means one whole week of banner-posting, Facebooking, Twitter-handling, Instagram spamming, speech-giving and campaigning fun! Of course, university students traditionally have jam-packed schedules and won\’t be able to join in on the festivities. However, this year we have something different in store!

\”Get to Know Your Candidates\” is an opportunity for all UNITEN students to interact directly with all the candidates running in this election. Running from 4/7/18 (Wednesday) to 6/7/18 (Friday), the forum will include a laid-back and casual Q&A session, where you can pose hard questions for the candidates, and really get to know them. This is a great chance for all UNITEN students to get together and involve themselves more directly in the political side of the university. For those of you not that interested in politics, think of it as the tribute\’s last dinner in the Hunger Games, where the tributes engage in pleasantries before their final bloody battle. Of course in this case, the only weapons to be found are words, ideas and actions.

We here at NADi wish all of the candidates of the 18/19 Election the best of luck in their endeavours. May we all play our part in striving to make UNITEN a better place. And of course, stay tuned for more election content! May the odds be ever in your favour!
