PUTRAJAYA, 7TH OCTOBER – The 6th of October marks the last day of orientation for the 343 new students of the October intake, which took place at Dewan Kuliah 1 (DK1), College of Computer Science and Information Technology (CSIT), Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN) Putrajaya Campus. This orientation was held for four days, which started on the 3rd October 2016 and ended on the 6th October 2016, with 1st and 2nd October as registration days.
Throughout the four-day event, the new students were exposed to introductory messages, welcoming remarks and standards of procedures such as sponsorship, subject registration, introduction to their respective faculties and introduction to the management team. Besides, students were divided to their respective groups and masses for their respective ice-breaking sessions, which plays a pivotal role in making their new friendships in a new environment.
During the last day, our team had went to the scene and interviewed some new students on what they expect from UNITEN. Here’s what some have to say.
“First, is to make new friends that would help me in my studies, secong thing is to study as hard as I can and hopefully to achieve the highest grade as I can cause I don’t want to disappoint my parents and thirdly is to get a job as soon as I graduate” – Muhammad Ehsan Baijan bin Mohd Jefri.
“To allow us to achieve higher CGPA so that we can improve the rate of employment” – Suliman Omar Suliman Zaroog.
“create opportunities to work and friendly environment” – Sangeetha Mahendran
The orientation ended with the student oath taking ceremony, which was officiated by the Vice-Chancellor of UNITEN, Yang Berbahagia Dato’ Prof. Ir. Dr. Kamal Nasharuddin Mustapha. With that, we from the NADi UNITEN team would like to welcome the October intake 2016/17 students to UNITEN, may you have a great university life ahead!
