Message from The Vice-Chancellor In Conjunction with the 59th National Day,
30th August 2016, (English)
Assalamu’alaikum dan Salam Sejahtera,
On 31st August 2016, we celebrate our 59th National Day or fondly known as ‘Hari Kemerdekaan’. The iconic seven shouts of ‘Merdeka’ by our country’s first Prime Minister, Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra Al-Haj in Stadium Merdeka in 1957 was so historical. National Day is a reminder to all of us to appreciate the sacrifices of our past leaders and the early Malaysians to achieve independence, to bring an end to the British colonial administration. It is indeed important to look back and learn from history. History connects us to the past for us to derive lessons form it in order to chart our future.
National Day celebration provides a good opportunity for us to assess our contributions to beloved Malaysia. We are truly optimistic of the future. We should continuously strive to create educated, knowledgeable and skilled citizens who will carry Malaysia forward not only to achieve developed status by 2020 but also beyond. UNITEN feels honored and privileged to play its role in supporting Malaysian Education Blueprint (MEB) and TNB’s Transformation towards Domestic Dominance, Regional Champion (DDRC) and in providing and quality access to higher education not only for Malaysians but also for international students. UNITEN is committed to generate creative, innovative and energetic graduates who will play strategic roles in nation building.
Selamat Menyambut Hari Kemerdekaan Ke-59 !!!
