Happy Eid Mubarak (and Test 1 Too!)

 

As loud, crackling fireworks cheer in the air,

As nakal little kiddies run around without care,

As rendang is served, with ketupat to go,

As masjids blast prayers, like a grand premier show,

As colours paint streets, sampings and all,

Baju kurungs and songkoks and glittery shawls,

As graves are visited, cherished ones you miss dearly,

As duit raya is given, waking up fresh and early,

As the Eid-ul Fitr spirit pumps in your veins,

As you\’re with father and mother, no more academic pain.

Go RE, go SD, goodbye FYP,

Go Thermo, go capstone, stop kacau-ing me.

Or at least \’til the morrow \’cause exam season is near,

To fill up your senses with a polar opposite cheer,

So study you will, between platefuls of rendang,

And God knows, perhaps, Test 1 will be kacang?

But at least for today, come chill with your kin,

Selamat Hari Raya, Maaf Zahir dan Batin.
