Amir, Champion of Akademi Fantasia 2016

SHAH ALAM, 8^th OCTOBER 2016 – Our very own UNITEN student, Amir Syazwan Masdi, 20, otherwise known as Amir, has emerged victorious as the champion of Akademi Fantasia 2016.

 

The finals of this popular reality talent show featured five finalists and took place at Auditorium Majlis Bandaraya Shah Alam from 9pm to 11pm, hosted by comedian Zizan Razak as well as singer-actor Alif Satar.

Judged by musician and composer Datuk Ramli MS, singer, actor and television host Datuk AC Mizal and Datuk Nasir, Amir proved estimations of him to be the grand winner by the fans of the show to be accurate, successfully overtaking his toughest competitors, Amal and Reshma, who came in second and third respectively.

 

The Electrical Engineering student won Malaysia’s hearts as he performed two songs. The songs were Romantis, a song made popular by Spring, followed by his very own song entitled Pemilik Cinta, written by Akim Ahmad and composed by Srikandi.

 

The champion brought home a grand total of RM50, 000, a trophy as well as a shopping credit card worth RM3, 000.

 

“To all of my fans, both here and out there, I’d like to say thank you,” said a very excited Amir, overjoyed by his accomplishment.
